Each year, influenza and its complications sends 20,000 people to hospital, with an average of 4,000 people dying from this virus.

The Government of the Northwest Territories Department of Health and Social Services provides the public with current information on what influenza is, its symptoms and how best to treat it and prevent its spread. Various brochures, fact sheets and other publications along with the department’s comprehensive website information are kept current for public and health care staff use.
